Am Diam ... a cèilidh for a cèilidh's sake!

Am Diam (The Jam) is an opportunity at Arisaig Games to meet with other musicians, get some playing time in, no pressure, and sell some of your music.

What's in it for us? ... We get some good music.

What's in it for you? ... You get the chance to sell your CDs and other products, and tell the public about your availability as a musician or band. Commission free. Stall free. If you are a fèis band, you get the chance to play with established members of the industry.

What do you have to do? ... Turn up on the day, pay entrance at the gate, guarantee us at least one hour's playing time, sort out with the other artists who does what and when. Play some tunes, make some feet tap, have a blast! There will be a Skipinnish stall, hosted by accordionist Angus MacPhail. Fit in with him, and sell your music from there.

Who's it for? ... Basically anybody involved in a performance area in Scottish traditional (especially Highland) music. Musicians, Singers, Dancers, Storytellers. We would also be happy to host fèisean bands. And if you happen to be coming along from another Celtic country, we'd be delighted to hear from you too.

How to get involved ... email us on info@arisaighighlandgames.co.uk

Other notes

1. Performers must provide at least one hour of music along with other artists.

2. You must pay the usual admission charges at the gate, which can be found on the home page.

3. A performer can represent his or herself and one band they play in. If you play in several bands ... bring a friend! Fèisean bands must be represented by at least two members of the band.

4. Pìob Mòr players should note that the tent for this event will be close to the Pìobaireachd competition, so great pipes may not be as appropriate as small pipes.

5. All music is unplugged.

6. Although there is no charge, you must complete the Traders Registration Form which can be found on the Downloads and Feeds section of the site. As sole traders etc, with little or no equipment it should be pretty easy to complete.

7. Am Diam performers will be treated as members of the public for insurance purposes. Therefore you cannot conduct any interactive activities such as dance calling, or instruction, unless you have public liability insurance of your own. If you have any queries about this, email us at info etc.

8. Performers under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, and if representing a fèis band, the relevant fèis administrator / band tutor should contact us beforehand.

9. Fèisean bands who do not have any recorded material to sell are welcome to come along and promote their own fèis if they wish, instead of selling CDs etc.
