Na Lucha

Arisaig Highland Games will shortly be launching a membership club which will bring you regular news about the Games, as well as preferential rates on merchandising, and other benefits such as lower admissions, and preferential rates on events.

The club will known as Na lucha (pronounced: ‘na loocha’, with the ‘ch’ the same as in ‘loch’ .. pronounced the right way!).

Na LuchaSo what does Na Lucha mean? Well, it means ‘The Mice’.

Eh?

Well, The games is held at Traigh, or more precisely on a field behind Port na Luchaig which also stretches into Traigh. Port na Luchaig means ‘Port of the Mice’. We’re not sure how it came by this name, but that’s besides the point.

So from now on, anybody who is a true friend of Arisaig Games will be known as one of Na Lucha or one of The Mice.

But you will have to join the club … and details will be up here soon … so keep an eye out.
